took mine off a little while back and as expected it understeered a lot less and turned in a lot better.

but,

the car now feels unstable under braking especially if braking on a slight bend in the road. also feels a lot less stable at motorway speeds. and the body roll is really annoying. anyone else get these side-effects?

so,

i was thinking of putting an arb from a lower model corsa on to see if that will give a comromise. anyone tried doing this?

does anyone sell an arb kit?

I am sure if you get in contact with a proper motorsport company they could produce one.

First of all find out what torsion it is in Nm so they know what to go for.

Also try looking on the used rally parts to see if there are any you never know.

Not sure about a lower corsa but, the diesels had a slightly stiffer one I think.

Yes, its better for less understeer but on the motorway its horrendous, and like you say under braking its all over the place.

Bad idea to remove IMO

http://www.regal-shop.co.uk/asps/ShowDetails.asp?id=4881

Standard Corsa's have a 22mm front anti-roll bar only as vauxhall decided not to fit a rear anti-roll bar despite leaving the bolt holes in the rear beam to fit one.

this kit uses these holes in the rear beam and bolts an 18mm rear anti roll bar in place to give a 40% stiffer rear end for much less chassis flex and much improved handling, much in the same way this kit uses a 24mm front roll bar in place of the 22mm for a 30% stiffer front chassis.

Front - £170
Rear - £240

Price £410.00

Not what you want, but if they are offering even stiffer ones, I would say that the handling would be best with one.

What about your front spring rates, maybe a stfifer spring would help.

Yeah I have now cheers mate!

Cars got another problem though

So far I've had changed on it fuel pump, fuel filter, bigger injectors, new amal valve, lambda sensor, temp sensor that goes in the top hat, and it still does dodgy fuel pressure!

Going to try another tank (things never been 100% since I put this one on).

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I hate it! Show me the nearest cliff and I'll drive it off LOL

The solution is to put the front one back on and get a stiffer back one.

i originally had none then i put a gsi one on.... it felt great for a day or so really smoothened out the ride....

then i noticed the car was understeering rediculosly.... so took it off again... no understeer...

then i put 14" wheels on the car with 175/65 tyres and again the car understeered.... put the antiroll bar back on and hey presto hardly any understeer

i dont think theres any set rule... imo it depends on your wheel suspension package as to what works best...

i tired to improve the handling more by installing yoko a539 tyres.. erm.. there crap....

P.S i have a whiteline rear ARB fitted....

The tendency of the car is based on how the front compares to the back. Its a bit of a balancing act. If the back is stiffer than the front it'll turn in better. If you want the front stiff as well then you need the back very stiff which means you keep your turn-in but its snappier than without stiffness.

Its all compromise!

Ian is right, it is all relative with a front rear set up.

You will also get more oversteer but, in a front wheel drive that should not really effect you ridulously.

cheers for all the help guys. im gonna have a go at fitting the arb from a 1.2 16v corsa and see if that helps balance the bodyroll/ understeer out a bit.

im using the bilstein sprintline suspension kit and dont really want to go with any harder springs.

already got polybushes.
