I need to know how long it takes for the money to transfer between the two. Is it straight away?

Selling my car this week & bank transfer seems like an easy option, plus you have to give a few days notice when withdrawing a large amount of cash.

What is needed? Just sort code & account number?

Cheers

sort code, account number and name of person it's going to obviously.

Takes 3 days between different banks. 1 day if you're from the same bank.

I know where he lives

So a bankers draft is like a pre cleared cheque that can be paid in & the funds are there straight away?

Sounds like the best option to me

Matt, your best bet is to meet him with a bankers draft, go to the bank with him and have it checked and confirmed, when they say everything is ok, you give him the car

Phone the bank you will be going to with your bankers draft, tell them its value and that you want to withdraw the money after you have deposited the bankers draft. Go in, deposit bankers draft and all being well it should clear instantly.
