Got myself a A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard and a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB 6Y080MO SATA

when i come to install windows it cannot see the hdd, tried looking through the bios and can't find much really, manual ain't got much on it. when you go into RAID setup you can see the drive

only got on CD with it and not much on there to help

any ideas?

u got the hhd set a master? u using any other hhds?

there is very little info on the HDD to know if it is set to master/slave etc

not other HDD drives although have tried one in an IDE slot to see what happens and xp starts to install

if your trying to install XP then you will need the SATA driver floppy disk to load the driver for XP install to recognise it

more likely with the HDD, if not just download the drivers

just looking now, deffo wasn't with HDD, lookign for drivers now, so it best look on maxtors site or ASUS

on the asus cd there is a section about sata, and you need to copy/create a floppy, then at the start of the installation, you press F6, insert floppy, load the sata drivers etc etc (something like this anyways )

The drivers will come with mboard.
Its the controller you need drivers for not the hd itself
