a lot of torque but not that quick in the real world compared to Petrol hot-hatches. Used to have a Fabia vRS and it 'felt' quick because of the torque and in gear acceleration was good but there is only a small band of power due to it being a diesel...

The 150hp model is very very quick on the move... had to literally redline every gear to come past one on the motorway the other day... it was pissing blue smoke out the zaust as I went past and I was like WTF... I thought it was 150bhp petrol!

yeah, proably, seen a gttdi to a 16.5 at crail. you can have em re-mapped to around 200bhp allegedly with ease. the tourque figure would be through the roof

My old man has a Gt-Tdi Golf (not the new new type but the Mk IV?) and the torque in it is immense....as it accelerates it pulls you to the back of your seat...its just a shame that at 4500rpm you have to change gear

I find that my diesel puts you in the back of your seat a bit but then yes you have to change gear

it might be the 130bhp version too, thats the one my mate has and its still called the GT TDI. Its nippy but he seems to thinks its the fastest car in the world, he reckons its not gonna be far behind a 220bhp tb'd corsa

235 lb ft @ 1900rpm
150bhp @ 4000rpm
134 mph
Basically, you could tow your house with this thing... more torque than a lorry
