I remember from the S700i that you had to run an the phone manager software from the disc. This was installed from disc and was on the desktop. I deleted this last night an all , however have now got a k750i and will look tonight.

Really silly question but try a different USB port and reinstall the whole CD software again. Just to check.

some more info...

Unstable USB connection between phone and PC

If you can establish a USB Cable connection between phone and PC, but it is later disconnected, it is most likely a problem with the USB port settings. Check the USB port speed in the computer and the cable speed in the phone. These two should match each other.

To check the COM port speed in PC:
1. Select START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL
2. Select SYSTEM > HARDWARE > DEVICE MANAGER
3. In the list, expand PORTS
4. Right-click USB Cable and select PROPERTIES
5. Select PORT SETTINGS tab, set the desired speed to 115200 bps.

If using a P800/P900/P910 series phone, please check in [CONTROL PANEL] > [CONNECTIONS] > [CABLE] that the speed is set to 115200 bps.
