went to pick brother up from airport on way home was doing steady 70 no more on motorway................

pulled out to overtake lorry hear a pop thought must have been summit on the road kept driving............

could smell tuna or summit hot kept driving.............

the pulled out to over take another car and was and back of car was all loose straight over to hard sholder

had flat, went to serch for spare never looked at it before.........had one not good tread tho, jacked it up and had the wrong size ratchet with it, 19 ml not 17!!!! services were only mile or so away so i pulled off in 1st to c if we could get there!!! no chance, jacked it up again and got rac out! while waiting was looking for puncture and found this.................



please excuse my vainey arm - lol




so u think it can be repaired????

i could not belive the pop was it blowing up, i we drove for 10mins about and was only at the end u could notice and that was only cos i pulled out to overtake someone, thought it wud have been scaryer when having blow out!!!!

was suprisingly normal to drive considering............. least it didnt happen earlier when i was embarrising a jag xk8 - hehe

think i may take it to local tire depot and ask them to repair it for a laugh i dont like them!!!! porb have a young yt lad on who wud think it could b repaired!!! hehe

think cos tyres are low profile they dont loose to much heaight, jacko off here had 19s and had blow out ages ago and didnt realise part for the really loud bang - lol

sure i got blue peter on tape and i can use there paper matchay techeque to repair it - lol

I had the same happen to me on the motorway, but it was a front tyre, didn't notice anything was wrong antill I pulled off the motorway, thought my tracking was out Got out and saw the mess of a tyre... This was when I had steelies though years back.....

^ you can suffer a blow-out from ANY tyre. Avon are a good brand, its just a case of bad luck/under or over-inflated tyre, debris in the road...list goes on.
