Seen a bonnet that I fancy for my corsa and its described as GRP which stands for Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic.

Anyone know anything about this? Is it lighter than a regular bonnet? Is it legal?

Cheers

That works doesn't it?

Glassfibre Reinforced Plastic

Basically as you've found out, a fancy name for fibreglass, which is strands of glass fibres woven into a matting, covered in an Epoxy resin, that can be classed as plastic .

oh and the reason for the change of bonnet is because my Max Power bonnet scoop i used to have glued onto my bonnet (which was functional and was for a purpose) is currently sitting somewhere between junction 14 and 13 Southbound on the M1....if you see it - give it a wave from me

thing is where my scoop used to be there are now two gaping holes in the bonnet....if it rains everything gets very wet so need a very quick replacement. A new bonnet is £69.99 plus £15 for delivery so thought i might as well go for a lighter bonnet for a few ££ more....

I'll ask when i phone them tomorrow though about group discounts
