Right, I'll explain my position again, hopeing someone that can help will see it this time,

My car is a 1.2 8v and it is really stupidly slow (even for a 1.2 8v) we have a dual carriage way which is about 1/2 mile long, its on a very slight uphill, and I can only just manage 60 by the top, I've seen other 1.2 corsa's hit 80

My car mainly struggles on uphills, not so bad on flats, but still sluggish, down hills it drives like it feels it should (and like ohter 1.2 corsa's ive driven)

Now, here comes the conclusions of my investigations

First of all, resetting the ECU does fuck all

Right, its running way too lean, the spark plugs are gleaming white and in pristine condition, I'm guessing this is due to too much air going into it (induction kit) theres nothing to automatically adjust the air:fuel ratio as where its not a AFM system (uses vacuum) theres no readings as such to really adjust it I'm guessing, I'm waiting on a standard air box at the moment. but the guy who had it before me said it used to run fine with the induction kit....

is that going to be the root of the problem?

Also, I've thought of fuel lines being blocked, kinked etc, now the clip on one side (tank side) of the fuel filter is kind broken, pipe stays on, and no visible leaks, but could it be loosing pressure or something? would that have anything to do with the under fueling? I'm going to be replacing the fuel filter tomorrow.

From cold occasionally (not always when its cold outside tho), the car hates revving and can't seem to decide on its idle speed, i'd take a guess (without a rev counter) that it wont rev above 3k, and the tone just goes up and down, almost as if its got a rev limiter, but its much slower than a normal car bouncing off the rev limiter.

The exhaust isn't great, the cats blowing very slightly, in less than perfect condition, only just passing emissions (with a few misfires ) and its got a big backbox on it, there seems to have been alot of welding and bodging on the exhaust.

The oil is a little low, but not below the min line, It could use an oil change really, but I'm doubting this has anything to do with my problems

The ECU light doesn't come on either.

the idle issue from cold is due to the induction kit. IMO carbed engines should not have a induction kit without tweaking the fuel to compensate.

Like you say get the standard airbox back on it and replace the fuel filter if there is a broken clip on that and see how it goes. Deffo got something to do with the air/fuel ratio imo

if too much air is going in, would covering up some of the air filter work to reduce the air going into it?

I don't think that would work.

Could also be something to so with this

you could have a head gasket problem, my mates corsa 1.4 struggled on power, he has a small crack in head gasket.

the idle speed problem is either the icv or the cts.... does it cut out at junctions?

the speedo problem is caused by the engine being a lazy turd..
