whats the actual process, how does it work? did you use the duty solicitor or your own or not bother?

I don't think you are entitled to use the duty solicitor in speeding cases. I may be wrong though..

Soon to find out all of this for myself... ;lol:

SRi-Co- was it pontefract and wakefield magistrates court by any chance?

i was summoned to court about not paying an sp30, i just filled in the slip about not attending, and wrote a letter to go with it, and they gave me 3 points and a 80 fine

just noticed your yorkshire way, thats where i got done, and i have to go to that court.

what happened when you went? did you have to do anything or did the solicitor do all the talking for you?

just pleaded guilty, the solicitor argued my case for me... slightly different though, i was up for no licence or insurance and facing a really long ban... i walked away with a 14 day ban and no points, depends on what you're likey to get... i paid 150 quid in legal fees, if its worth the money to you employ a good solicitor, most will advise you for free before you actually take them up

my gf was up in leeds magistrates court for driving with no licence or insurance she was been *towed* and she got 6 points and £75 fine which i think was harsh...

I'd not take any representation in speeding matters, all a good solicitor does is present your mitigation in a good way, which is not hard. I'd represent myself....

i pleaded guilty by post for driving without an mot it was a couple of days out. i got a 75 pound fine was told if i had of gone to court it would of been half that..

I got caught doing 130mph the T5 wasnt impressed as he couldnt keep up with my cav turbo
I went to court in my own car!
Used the duty solicitor who was a star!
walked out and drove home with 5 points and a 45 quid fine!
