As part of the deal I made with the lad who bought my written off pulsar he did the cambelt, water pump and clutch on the corsa over last few days.

When he dropped it off yesterday he said one of the tensioners had siezed and the other one the bearings were knackered

Just think if he hadnt knocked on the door that day wanting to buy the pulsar any minute that could of chucked the cambelt meaning dead engine

Lucky escape

wow that is lucky

I had the same thing happen to me, my cambelt on my 172 isn't due until next year (5 years old next year) but seeing as though I was going to get a 36k service I thought I would bring it forward a year.
The bloke doing it noticed 2 really bad things a main bolt holding the cambelt on was very loose and could of gave way at anytime.
Also my waterpump was faulty and needed replacing he reckons it would of lasted 1 month at a max before it would of seized

Saved myself a new engine
