Do they work in both directions or are they the same as standard gatsos?

Well i was driving along the dual carrageway, and there was a gatso on the other side. A BMW was speeding past me, and i saw two flashes from the gatso, and there were no cars on the other side...
So if gatsos can do it, maybe those other ones can

There were only marks on the other side of the road not on mine. I don't even think I was speeding but it's just niggling at me.

markings are on both sides of road anyway to catch people overtaking, or trying to bully the camera

This is true.
The standard gatso's do flash on the opposite side of the road, but your never caught.
Against health and safety i think (something like that).
If it was to flash in your eyes and you crash then your gonna sue for mega bucks.

You won't be caught its happened to me a few times now, the camera will flash hit the front number plate and because its white apparently it gives the numberplate / camera a mirror effect and the camera can't pick it up.
Thats why the rear plate is yellow (apparently)

Nope it's just not configured for that direction, ie something coming towards it. Do not try this with a front facing gatso on your side of the road
