ive got a 12" 500rms 1000w max sub that operates at 2 or 8 ohms, and need an amp to power it, i want it to be seriously loud without blowing the sub, so i presume i need something close to 500rms and about 800w max? wat amp wud b best for under £200?? an alpine one?

thats mega overkill for his sub.

allthough Mike you cud get another sub the same and run both from this amp!!!!

cheers everyone.. richie that looks slightly too powerful... theres an Alpine mono block one in motorworld .... 700watts max, 350rms @ 2 ohm, for £150, seems gud dusnt it?

my sub only operates @ 2 or 8 ohms, not 4 ohms. the jbl amp is 580rms @ 2 ohms, which is more than my sub

its fine you can put more power in to a sub as long as its clean and you keep the gains down
