sounds like your boss is an ass if hes making you do that for a payrise.
It must be a serious pay rise then?

Bart WTF aer you smoking? You can't call his boss an ass for asking Mav to justify his payrise
If you own a business and pay reviews come up you dont just hand out extra K's of cash for the fun of it, you hand them out if your employees have earnt it, or their responsibilities have change.
I've got one next month and I got to do the same, and try to make a killing.

umm.... maybe its just me.
Ive got a gauranteed 3% pay rise each year.
But i can neogiotiate that when we have an individual talk with the boss.
Last year i got an 18% rise, and this year i got a 4k rise with out having to moan too much.
Geez, i got it easy

Well, i also look after and deal with ALL the IT equiptment here.
I joined as a young lad doing an apprentiship, ive 1 more year left, but the course im doing is BTEC HND Plant & Process Engineering (or Mechatronics).
The course covers subjects such as Adcanced maths, mechanics (such as stress, tension, bending moments), pneumatics and hydraulics, heat transfer, autocad design (2d and 3d), business management techniques, and project management.
They are just the courses i have done this year, there are more next year.
Very very good course to do for anyone who wants to get into engineering, and the management helps for later on in life

I take it you aint an engineer than. How can you class yourself as an engineer if your "doing" a HNC.
Ive just finnished my ONC in elecctrical/electronic engineering and ive done all that business management techniques, and project management.
I will be starting my HNC in sept and after 2 years of HNC i may be offered a job of a technician with my company Bosch.
Engineers in work with me have at LEAST a HND, most have degrees. And you wont have a sniff at an engineers job if you aint got a HND/Degree at most places.
Where do you work then bart? i want a job!
