I have a de-restricted airbox with a good cold air feed and replacement panel filter. I used to have a cone type induction kit on mine for a month which didn't do any favours - fuel usage increased and didn't notice a difference in performance although my car is slower than a slug to start off with.

If an induction kit thou IMO best type would be one which is enclosed and heat shilded.
