Top one - new threads or replies in this forum ( I think )
Next - new replies in a thread you have previously read
Next - new thread
This is all just assumptions btw

The arrow means someone has posted a new reply that you have not read since your last visit. Think the paper one means a new thread that you haven't looked at yet. And the last one is a thread that you have read all replies.

I noticed when i scroleld down after reading this that all the threads that i had previously read had the papaer folder and the ones that are new and i haven't seen yet today are just folders. Only Ian knows the answers though
