why are you after rears?
If you want a nice SQ instal then you only want a set of front comps and a small single sub all run off amps.
Only use more than one set of full range speakers if you are after 'volume' over quality.

What would you reccommend for my car then Ad?
Just after some better bass but also clearer sound. was thinking maybe set of comps in the front and a sub in the boot? If I do that should I take my rear speakers out as on 306's as standard there are some on the parcel shelf

exactly its allabout budget, and time your willing to spend.
Remember to factor in the cost of amps to power the comps/sub whilst u decide, and steer xlear of sony, lanzar, pyle, etc...

RMS values CRFC?
I run 200w RMS x 2 to the fronts and 900w RMS to subs, but its not about power handling at all.
Theres a difference in design for an SQ sub to a SPL sub, and ideally for a SQ install u would have a single 10" in a small sealed box.
Choice of sub depends on your budget.

How do you know which sub is for spl and which is for SQ???
Would it be a specification or not?
