if i get another corsa tailgate and semi smooth it...what do i need to get it to open again instead of the switch?

a solanoid kit. thats all. Ive wired mine from the rear window heater switch so boot pops when i pull the middle dial

I thought id miss it, but i dont one bit. Had it this way for a long time now and never once missed it. No rear wiper either.

I wired mine to rear wiper dead easy, never gonna use the rear wiper so was a good idea.

would it not be better to use a solenoid from a car manufaturer like a boot one or somehting rather than a ebay one etc etc

Apparently the old XR2 boot releases are really strong. If anything, just get uprated hatch struts so the hatch lifts. Especially handy if you have a spoiler or smooth boot panel causing extra weight.
