How is this done, I washed my chef's jacket with a pen in th pocket and it exploded. I bought a product called De Solve It.... Needless to say this didn't work, even though it has a garuntee to remove all known stains Anyone know of any other ways?

This is what I do on Saturday nights BTW

Can You Help This Cheapskate?
Last week Noelle needed help with getting biro marks off a new jacket.

Fellow Cheapskates Answered:

Hair spray will get biro out of clothing. just spray on, rub together, and be gentle. whatever is in hairspray seems to make the ink "vanish" !! I have also used hair mist from a pump bottle, it also worked well). -Contributed by Merran

Re: the biro stains. Hairspray (one with high alcohol content, since it is the alcohol that removes ink). Hold a rag against on the underside of the garment, spray the stain, then dab the stain with another rag, essentially 'pulling' the ink from the fabric. The cloth on the underside is important to keep the stain from spreading. Good luck! -Contributed by Susie

To get biro off anything...use hairspray. Make it really wet and wipe off with a dry cloth. When the biro has been completely removed, wipe with a clean damp cloth to remove the remaining hair spray. WD20 Spray sometimes removes some types of pen marks without ruining any fabrics at all. It leaves a smell that goes away. It's also good for removing chewing gum from anything. -Contributed by Silvia
