I agree about the rest of your points about America but i would say u maybe bit the nose off despite your face there. I think he was really just pointing out that the song was big in the US not that because it was big in the US it must be great and glorious and big over here. Tis a bit like the song from the Citroen C4 advert. The song was huge in France and I am sure if anyone was telling u about that song they would say it was bog in France.
