Seen some on Autotrader and the prices are dropping all the time, i feel i can afford one now or in the coming months (perhaps after holiday) so was wondering what you lot thought of them, which model is best to go for, mileage no no's etc etc
Thanx peeps

I think they are really nice. Fancy one for my next car if I can afford it! I'd go for a 2.2 16v in Europa Blue if it were me

I have one..in Mirage Silver..fantastic car, lovely to drive and very smooth. Turbo is best if u can afford it, I have a 1.8 which is not bad at all and cheap on insurance.

I wasn't overly impressed with mine; was a nice smooth drive but wasnt that fast for a 2.0 turbo

0-60 of 7 seconds, not as quick as a type r, but a lot cheaper.

Well the turbo is group 15, used to have the 1.8 which is group 9 think that the 2.2 is 13 not sure though, there was not much difference between the insurance groups of the turbo and 2.2,

Mine was the ATR and i payed £1600 less for that than the astra; it just didnt seem aswell balanced as the honda and the driving experience wasnt half as good.
The 2.2 maybe a better buy tho as the insurance on the turbo is very high and the 2.2 is very low

here's a pic of mine

The insurance group may not seem that high but the policy was quite a bit more than any of my previous cars, and the ATR is a higher group!

no point in buying the 2.2 for speed really, not unless you do lots of motorway miles and want good economy...
would have a small block one over a 2.2, but a turbo over all of them!
