The Government has outlined details for a radical 'pay-as-you-go' road charging system to replace road tax and fuel duty - but it has yet to explain if we will pay less to go by bike.
Transport Secretary Alistair Darling's idea could see road users paying between 2p a mile on quiet roads to £1.34 per mile on the busiest stretches at the busiest times. You would be tracked by satellite to calculate what you owe - with the obvious potential to track all your movements and your speed.

Surely you could either a. rip the box out or b. complain it's a violation of your human rights or something?

I disagree, i think its a much better idea than paying a one off fee of £120 of what ever. Think about it.
Compare a sales rep who drives up and down the country all day, pollutes the country more than the average person, wears the roads away more than the average person, and compare that to dear old little effle who is quite old and only drives to the supermarket once a week to get her shopping and pension. She is paying the same amount as the Rep.
That doesnt seem fair to me?
People who wear and tear the roads more should pay more, e.g. the tax should be added to petrol (and it wouldnt increase much at all).

I use my car quite a lot. I will probably end up paying more if this system were to be enforced.
This is why I disagree

Yes, but the rep is also paying more in fuel duty than the old lady. Well, he probably isn't, but he's probably not paying the tax either. This replaces fuel duty too, remember.
