i remember it well mate. was some very large supercells over those few days. once in a lifetime thing. house down the road got struck and set on fire. No power for 12 hours where we live, gum tree got struck outside the front of our house and burnt the middle to a crisp, 100ft tall this tree, and it had to be removed before it fell. when the lightning hit that tree, the sound made us all deaf for a few minutes, house must have jumped and moved a foot to the left, it shuddered that bad.

brad, i was doing some work in a place on George Street, and we had like 300mm of rain in 6 hours, this was about March time, the water was coming over the curbs everytime a bus went past, and the water would go straight the Arcade to the other side and out onto Pitt street never seen so much rain in my life.

yeah, storm drains run straight into the harbour. did you hear about the Sydney Ferry crash? my dad works for AMP in the AMP building right behind Circular Quay on 22nd floor overlooking harbour, he heard some crazy sirens, looked down and saw the Manly ferry going full speed into the quayside. few people got hurt and ferry got wrecked.
