I go 4 times a week just weights stuff, chest, biceps, triceps, back, legs, shoulders! and also k boxing 4 times a week, which involves alot of CV work, press ups, sit ups etc etc all good stuff.

Im a hell of a lot better than I was but I wanna get alot more definition, Whats best hing to do, Im doing loads reps lower weights and then stepping it up and doing less reps.

Eg. Shrugs -

25 Reps - 25Kg
20 Reps - 32.5Kg
15 Reps - 35Kg
12reps - 40Kg
8Reps - 45Kg

But mainly wanna get better definition on my chest now had tattoo so doing chest twice a week doing different weight exercises on different days.

Jsut wondered what you all do, or suggestions.

Cheers

ok what your doing is called 'pyramid' which is one of the worst forms of excerise you can do. I'd say your going over the top especially for traps. Back to topic. weighted pull-ups, bench press/close grip bench press are probably the best excersises to go for. Compound over isolation all the way.

i was told to tone do high reps and lower weights (red muscel fibres), to bulk do lower reps and more weight... (white muscel fibres)

BUT

If you did like im doing (so im old) bit of everything low weight high reps and step weight up, lower the reps then u do both the Red and the white muscle fibres hence get bigger quicker!

never in my life have i heard that theory. There are fast twitching(excel at heavy weight lifting/low reps) and slow twitching(excel with stamina ie. long distance running) muscle fibres.

This works but mixing your workout does not always work. Heavy weights and light weights, Your kick boxing is a great way to gain tone. White muscle fibres are fast twitch i.e 100m sprinter- these give you tone. red muscle fibres are slow twitch i.e great for a long distance runner.

Also makle sure you have a good diet, protein is always a good place to start..... boiled chicken, tuna etc. Cut out all the rubbish you eat but don't deny yourself all together. Have 1 take away a week or soemthing to stop losing motivation and when drinking drink plenty of water to stop the beer having a bad effect.

Personally when i wanted tone i cut out the heavy weights totally and focused on cv work with low weights high reps for 2 months. Once you have burned body fat down to around 12% then you can bring the high weights back into it.
