Thinking about buying a Series 2 Escort RS Turbo... Looks like I can pick up a clean, low mileage example for around £3000.

Proposed mods are Coilovers, Exhaust, Filter, Chip, Hoses and some shiney bits...

Are they old and pikey? Or retro cool?

Thoughts, advice and opinions welcomed...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking... Chav!

I just really like them, and mint ones are getting rarer... Hence more respectable!

Series 1 would be lovely! But they are all rot now...

Decent ones are about 5K and they are not as reliable as the S2...

I'd consider an S1 if I had a big wad, but I need to use it as a daily driver so I think S2 is probably a safer bet?

Me too but unless you get a seriously mint one you'll spend cossie money restoring it Series two is a more economical option. Try and get a Post 90 spec

My old one;

Cost a shed load to keep it nice, especially when you start upping the boost etc. Was great though, loved it.
