i've had a quote from elephant for £821, being 19, no ncb, on a 1.6 Stilo thought that was pretty good. The only thing is its a 10 month accelerator policy. If i were to cancel after a year do other companies look at this as a years no claims bonus or do they just laugh at me for taking out the policy?

mines a 10mth bonus accelerator policy and yes it counts as a years ncb

i think thats the idea of a 10 month 1, means u get your 1 yr ncd sooner.

im doin that with elephant on my next renewal

but do other insurers not look at it like youve only had the policy ten months, therefore not a full year, so you dont have 1 year ncb?

iv got 2 years (10 month accelerator) worth of NCB, and have wondered this

il just stay with elephant i think

i wasnt sure if they give you a decent price for your 10 month policy, then your renewal is about £500 more and you cant go elsewhere because no one would accept this.

How would they know you've only had a 10 month policy? When they ask how many years NCB just say however many you have, don't mention the 10 month thing, not that I would see it being a problem anyway.

Exactly. New insurers just ask for your NCB, not how long you had your old policy.

yes your all right..

i was on a 10 month bonus accelerator with "Admiral" who are a part of elephant and they are literally identical companies!!

at the end of the 10 month/policy period, they sent me a new "certificate" and a new "policy Schedule" i did not renew my policy so had to post back the certificate and was told to keep the schedule, which had all my personal and car details etc and it said Clearly at the top 1yr NCB PROOF

u ask them for proof after 10 months u get a certificate saying 1 years NCB!
