PUBS END HAPPY HOUR
Happy Hour will be a thing of the past in more than half of all British pubs from today.
The British Beer and Pub Association has outlawed cheap booze promotions in a bid to curb binge drinking and the growing problem of alcohol-fuelled violence.
A minimum price may also be set on all drinks. 
The number of shots in cocktail jugs will be cut and toughened glasses introduced to stop them being used as weapons.
The ban is being introduced by all 32,000 members of the British Beer and Pub Association in a bid to tackle the growing problem of alcohol-fuelled violence.
"Offers like 'pay £10 on the door and all drinks are free' drinking games and schemes that encourage people to drink too much too quickly have no place in our sector," said spokesman Mark Hastings.
"We're determined to stamp them out.
"With the backing of the Government, police and licensing authorities we aim to ensure that all pubs operate to standards of corporate and community social responsibility."
The Association decided to axe happy hours after talks with the Government, which hopes to introduce 24-hour drinking in November.

Bollocks!! There goes my idea of recreating the scene from trainspotting one of these days
Doesnt actually bother me this happy hour thing i'm never in pubs/clubs normally just get pissed at home with the 'rents or at a mates house

You cant set a minimum price on a pint!
A bloke took a campaign group to court and won a while ago because they were trying to set a minimum price on a pint.

i remember this happened to an old farmhouse last year sometimes. Whole thing just came down when it rained as the roof became really heavy.
