my m8 has had 15" tsw alloys put on his corsa gls (5dr) and tbh it rides like a pram lol ! so i told him 2 lower it but he recons it rubs as it is now so he wont lower it . i told him that the offset is probably wrong but he says its 45 could it b nethin other than offset ?

You need to de-bolt and maybe trim the arches, oh and get tyres that are the rights size for the car. ET45 more or less the right offset for the wheels.

he got 195 wide tyres i thought these wudnt rub on 15's

apparently Tsw alloys dont come in 45's i was told today coz thats the problem i am having with my car, unless it's only 17" tsw alloys that you can't get in 45s? i'm not sure.

depends some old skool alloys like my old TSW alpines they were ET45 but thats quite rare.
Your mate will deffo be ok with a lowered 40mm drop on 15's just try and keep to 195/45/15 tyres You got more play with offset on smaller wheels

dnt understand that i have et35 kahns and they dnt rub when i got them on and even if i lowered it they would lrub cos the amout of room by the arch wot size tyres has he got

15" TSW rims are most common in ET38, like said by fad, alpines were ET45 in 15's but VERY rare!
16's are ET45 on most, 17's same (i think)
