will a set of 16" with 42 offset fit ok lowered on some fk coilovers

you wont be able to go that low!
They will fit obviously as you have coilovers so you can adjust it to fit!
But if you wanna go low you will deffo rub!
Arch work will solve alot of the rubbing, trimming the plastic and metal will give you abit more room for not much work!
But the thing that will give solve most of the rubbing will be up grading to a 195/40/16 tyre, they are considerably thinner!

cant get thinner rubber. i stay on a farm in the sticks . i drive my car everyday and the roads around here are diabolical to say the least. mate has an astra with 18s think they are 40 profile rubber and he has craked at least two of his alloys

i expect he has 215/35 rubber on his 18s and they are just as thin!
Well i would deffo consider arch work then as you will deffo need it if you wanna go low especially with ET42!
Mines slammed and with the 195/40's and with ET45 on lock its a couple of mm between tyre and arch so a higher offset and bigger tyres you are onna struggle!
