well as some of you may know i have the shed as the shopping car, and the other night (before redline rumble) i found i have a fuel leak from the tank (quite bad) so had to replace the tank.
now before i did this i was getting what i was thinking a really impressive number of miles to £10, so went out last night filled the tank up and worked out how many mile she gets now without the leak

So heres mine:-

Car - Corsa
Engine - 2lt 16v on Carbs 186bhp
Number of Miles to £10 = 135 (EDITED Fuel Price 83.9p)

Really impressed with it

Its awful, im hoping the 2.0 is going to be better... My 2.0 Astra was better than it on petrol :S

In my Rover 400 1.6 16v I could go from Liverpool to South wales on £15

Not at all.

For Unleaded I've seen it range from 82.9 to 89.9.
If you steal petrol, you get unlimited miles for £10. If you spill most of the fuel over your car rather than pour it into the tank, you get fewer miles for a tenner.

what if you have the e-bay resistor mod that tricks the ECU into thinking your corsa engine is really an american V8?

Thats not even funny . Did you drive it like a granny to get that or something? Couldnt have been using many revs or anything, as surely it'd drink the petrol then .

Convering it into MPG, thats

£10= 1000p / 83.9 = 11.9 Litres / 4.5 (litres per gallon) = 2.6 Gallons of fuel used

135Miles / 2.6 Gallons = 52 MPG.

Sorry, but im finding that hard to believe. Some of the new CDTi corsas would struggle to get a figure near that.
