You wont get shot in the town centre.
Shops try victoria centre or most of the shops near the market square.
Depends what sort of shops you want and what you want to eat!

Notts is ok, my ex used to work on the doors at night and work as a manager in ojne of the shops during the day..to be honest the amount of time he spent there he should have been shot if it is really supposed to be that bad. do they still have the cruises on sunday nights? or have the police stopped it all?
