with good pics?
misses 1.2 8v has little bit of reddy/grey sludge under the oil cap and on the dip stick, and there is slight oil leaking from the camshaft cover (the gap between the cam cover where it bolts onto the main engine.....).
Does this mean water or somthing is getting in there.
Would renewing the gasket sort it out? does the bolts need to be tightened to a certain force?
Also... the temp gauge aint working ? Any common fault i can check that can easily fix it or is a sensor gone?
Any sort of website that can help me out on this question? used the search and there are no definitive answers to these questions?
Cheers

Remove the rocker cover, change the gasket, then see if there is stuff on oil cap/dipstick.

Try it and see! Yes, buy a Haynes manual to give you the torque settings (and buy a torque wrench if you don't already have one!).

Check the spade connector (in the engine bay) to the dash gauge sender is actually on, and if so, remove any dirt and stuff in case it doesn't have a clear contact.

Buy a Haynes manual for your car, if you still don't know, then ask on here or MIGWeb, for example.

No worries. C12NZ engine is really easy to work on, so you shouldn't have any problems doing the above.
Hell, if I managed to remove the inlet manifold from a V6 engine, you can remove the rocker cover from a 1.2 8v!

Checked all the connections under the plastic thing they all seem fine....

pics of the slight oil leak

If you could point out where i should check for this sensor on this pic it would be great as i have no clue where to check the "spade connector (in the engine bay) to the dash gauge sender is actually on"

It will be where your thermostat is.
Check your breather hose (goes from cam cover to plastic throttle body cover) isn't blocked up either, if it is, there may be excess pressure in your cam cover hence oil leak...
