first one since i've owned the car and since the engine conversion has been done.
needed to renew my tax pretty sharpish, so i dug out my documents and was shocked to see my mot was a little out of date. booked it in this morning, and took it in this afternoon.
i knew it would fail on something, but wasn't sure what.
turns out there were six things.
easy bits: headlight aim, no rear seat belts (i'll take the seat out again)
others were rear bearing, front tyres at limit, and slight spot of welding needed on one of the front chassis legs.
last one was emmissions. sheet read that it passed natural idle, but failed fast idle. reading was 0.65% CO and limit was 0.3%. now i didn't realise the garage i take my car to subcontracted mot's out to another firm, so i'm not sure if the tester was made aware that the engine was pre '92.
i re-emphasised to the garage, and they're going to confirm with the testing station.
i'm booked in on friday for chassis plating and bearing adjustment/replacement, and tyre fitting if i can source a couple in time; but in the meantime i need to declare the car sorn to avoid getting a fine for tax evasion.
that'll teach me to leave it to the last minute.
