i would have thought it would be cheaper to keep the engine in the car

ollie just wants a nova with a corsa engine and a corsa with a nova engine

£300-200 if I sell the X14XE it has 105k on it, £100 for E16SE and I prefer the revvy nature of the E16SE.

I just want to be different I suppose, and make a quick buck

This will be a easy conversion, very easy and I want to do it myself this time so its a good learning experience.

Ok the bloke brought the MOT report in today.

Considering this is a M-reg Corsa its pretty rotten must have been sitting in a 2 foot deep puddle for a year or something

Rack & pinion mounting points rusted
Rear coil spring mounts rusted through within 30cms
OSF suspension top mounting point rusted within 30cms
NSF chassis rusted through 30cms
OSF front mounting points
NS outer sill rusted through
OS & NS rear inner arch to sill rusted through

OSR brake (can't read it)
Brake master cylinder mounting point rusty

Wiper blades worn to excess
Vehicle mounting points rusty all within 30cms of mounting points.

Ahh well spend £500 on getting it welded up properly to last and got a decent runabout for £600

what month was it registered, thats all u need to know.

e16se is a nova GTE engine, C16se is a nova GSi engine

but it probably wont rev out quick in a corsa like it would do in a nova.

+ if your getting an x14xe corsa why not put an x16xe in it then it will be 106 bhp and will be more tunable

This is still unknow

Details I have are

Chassis number
Reg plate (which is'nt showing as valid on Direct Line website)
Year of first use 1994 (obviously)

ah if its a 1994 then its prob 8v, mines a early 1995 model.
As far as i can remember it was sometime early 95 when the engines changed in them.

Aug 94 revisions:
gas shock absorbers, rear wash/ wipe and stereo on Merit; close-ratio gearbox on 1.2 LS/GLS; 16-valve engine on 1.4i GLS/SRi.

August 94 would mean the swap from L-reg to M-reg would it not?

So its most likely to be 16v.
