had my 19inch monitor for 7 years, cost me about 500quid at the time and its finally packed in
Any ideas what flat screen monitors are the best these days looking for either a 17 or 19 inch one.
Worth me spending a bit extra on a better make or are they all decent quality these days?
Cheers

PC World?! Currys?! are you taking the piss?
If you want to get ripped off go for it.
If not I recommend Ebuyer. (www.ebuyer.com)
Got me dual 17" TFTs (cheapest ones they had 2 years ago... £250 each at the time! made by "Video Seven", no dead pixels, good shit!) from there and they've been great. on pretty much most of the day and they're still going perfect
Black and silver too.

Might place an order on that now then, do a couple of searches first for a couple of reviews see if they recommend it.

Dell 1800FP.
Can't get them new any more but I've got three and I'll be having some more very soon.
Failing that anything from aria.co.uk - very cheap and they'll test dead pixels for a fee to ensure you don't end up with them.

No most sellers won't refund if pixels are dead. Its fairly common - I think 1 in 100 monitors has one?
The only ones that are warrented against them are high end medical/cad stuff but some places will check first for a fee.
Read this - http://www.aria.co.uk/tft-dead-pixel-info.asp

Dell are doing 1905FP's really cheap at the moment. 19" TFT with new PVA technology. Means the viewing angles are like 178 degrees horizontal so you can see it from anywhere in the room. (When I say really cheap they'ree £245 and they used to cost £400!).
Great for movies and a beautiful screen. Same panel as the Samsung 193P which costs nearly £450!

They were £250 last week -- sorry. Still worth £350 though -- I have two and they are some of the best TFTs I've ever looked at! Serious quality screens!
