Got a letter from PIPEX asking use if we wanted to upgrade our broadband to 1mb for a one off payment of £20... They upgraded it, and its like 2.2mb Damn it;s soooooooo fast....

Supanet upgraded ours and i'm sure they haven't charged us extra, it wasn't meant to be free either

The pricing structure from bt changed. Thats is why everybody is getting upgrades. The ISP's are now charged per gig for the amount of data transferred instead of the speed of the line like it used to be. The majority of ISP's now offer as fast as your line can handle and a data transfer cap.

This is happening to me too, at the end of the month for....£0.

I should get it for free as I worked on BT's Broadband 1 million lines project a few years ago. Pretty sure i saw robbie fowler there too

my comp shows up im running 1.1mps but its really 512k! theres a site u can check your speed on then u will no it!

Mine "claims" to support up to 24Mbps......which router were you testing with, out of interest?

someone fancy tellin me if this is ok for a 1mb connection??

Downstream 965 Kbps (120.6 KB/sec) 1042 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 125 Kbps (15.6 KB/sec) 135 Kbps (inc. overheads)

i was downloading at the time of test aswell dont know if that will make a blind bit of difference though

download speed looks fine mate, upstream speeds looks a bit on the slow side tho. Running downloads as well would only affect the test results slightly
