Its my first weekend back on the doors after having a couple of months off, and what a weekend i picked to come back.
I knew their would be trouble, always is on St georges day but tonight was bad. At around 2am the highstreet was manic, probably around 50 coppers were present involved in fights kicking off everywhere.
Some black guy wanted to fight everyone and completley f*ucked an innocent bloke up. The bloke who got done over is harmless, he's in town most nights and only has 1-2 friends. The black guy punched him, knocked him out and the guy hit his head on the floor as he hit the ground (he's a big guy, not that tall but must weigh 20+ stone). The ambulance were quite quick to get to him but the amount of blood that was coming out of his head was shocking. When they took him away in a neck brace and stretcher their was bits of his head/flesh all over the floor
A ex doorman i know got smacked by the black guy too but ended up smashing the black guys head against a shop window many times. The ex doorman got f*cked by the police and by the time they'd got him in the wagon he had cuts all over his head.
It's good to be back

Sounds fun
The carnage that is saturday night in most towns these days.
Fortunately the place i work at is normally one of the quieter places in town, No DLF (Derby Lunatic Front) Because the head bouncer knows them, so we get the occasional pisshead who can barely stand trying to kick off, thats about it

Ive done the doors for 4 years now and the amount of trouble kicking off these days is far more frequent than when i first started - by far.

I'm only a barman, so wouldn't know much.
But being on reception at our place you get to see most things, and i've seen hardly anything kick off. But like i say, we run it well, and don't let the chavs in if we can help it.
They go to the other places further into town so it's all good really.
But from everything that's going on on TV etc... I guessed that it's a lot worse than it used to be

croydon is getting the same mate. we had riots etc after the football matches (was all over the news) and now you dont go a night without seeing atleast 2 fights.
for example friday night, walking towards walkabout, see a load of blokes run out the door, COVERED in blood. get towards walkabout and theres 2 blokes knocked out on the floor, surrounded by blood n glass. couldn see their face for all the blood. was disgusting

MK is usually alright. Although last night some bloke looked as if he was about to hit his bird, so two coppers ran toward him and took him down. Then the bird knocked the coppers hat off whislt trying to get him off her boyfriend. Was hilarious

Its getting worse, my hometown isnt too bad as i know pretty much everyone in it, but always get someone drunk trying it on,
my mate got glasses when we was in colchester last year as he was seing some blokes EX girlfriend, they had been split up 1.5 years!
Glassing and kicking the shit into someone i think is totally uncalled for, ive never been in a scrap myself and i just walk away, im not the type.
But mates that do if theres something really that bad, one or 2 punches and walk off, no jumping on peoples heads etc thats just shit.
Craig - is there as many fights in clubs u think?
i think theres more outside kebab houses etc

I currently work at a bar which holds 650 people and we hit capacity by around 10pm usually, it's rammed. I used to work at a club for 3.5 years and in there i'd say there were usually anything from 3-5 big scraps a night. From 1am - 2am is the worst time for scraps - that's when we have to earn our money 2-3 bottlings/glassing a week was normal. I work on the front door of the bar im working at now and i know most of the trouble makers in town so keep them out, so i don't get too much trouble where i am at present.
Im not sure if i prefer working at a club or a bar, the night goes alot quicker in the club because clubs definatley seem to have more trouble.
To be fair the general public don't really know what goes on in clubs etc, we're the eyes and ears of the club so get to know of everything that goes on - more than you think! Which is a good thing because the majority of the public are out to have a good time. Its justs just a shame theirs an increasing minority that only go out to cause trouble.

Craig -yeh i know, how the bouncers also point out the fit ladies!
My local club, in a small town is awful!
1000 people id say, rammed from ages 16-50 every saturday night.
The club owner plays footy for 1 team and my mate for another, For years the owners always been better till cup final and my mate ran rings around him! So his team went to the club to celebrate!
My mate was pulled outside for apparently being drunk, where he was taking round the back where 3 bouncers and the ownder proceded to kick the shit into him. he had to have his jaw wired up everything!

Your mate should've took them all to court, GBH with intent, worth a good 4-7 years in prison

I still admire people like you for doing there job

That's a shame, we can do without pricks like that on the doors - or we all get a bad name.
Im a prisoner escort in a crown court and have been with a few doormen on trial. I never know which way its going to go because the doormen/manager/club always play on the fact that the punter was drunk etc, but most jury members generally see doormen as thugs.

With regards to the cctv, more like it got purposely 'lost'! With the newer more advanced cctv these days alot of clubs dont use tape recording anymore which have delays - it's all real time and is automatically saved. One club i worked at, the cctv was all live time and was directly saved onto a police database.
