and how old where you when you start?
Just wondering because i didn't go because i need the work experience as most jobs want 2-3 years experience with qualifications but i can work and get qualifications so i didn't see the point. Or they just want you to have 2+ years of relevant experience. I already know the course work, i just get bored sitting listening to the same shoot over and over again for the ones who just can't grasp the fact that you press the power button and the computer turns on.
I've spoken to a fairly large majority who've said that degree's are pretty much worthless nowadays and it's mainly experience which i have seen quite a few times tbh. I know my shoot . Many people going from uni and getting shoot jobs because they don't have the experience.
I only want to go for the social life, not fussed about the degree. I'll get it but student life was great lol, minus having no money and gettin student debts .
May go in the next year or 2 though depending on if i'm still playing ice hockey because that takes up most of my time with travelling and all that shoot. I'll have to fund myself though which i'll be pretty shoot.
Anyway comments/views/opinions on uni and going to uni n all that jazz.

that's pretty much what some uni's are but the kids are a hell of a lot taller.
Sort of?
Think you better do some revision
I'm doing computing studies and info systems and self teaching myself year 2 business admin while i'm travelling. Why people bother going to lectures for this shoot i don't know, well most probably don't i suppose. I got through the first year then left . I back to america and completely lsot interest because they were still going over the same shoot, that they were doing before i left

BlitZ, you gotta become a student. It's not like work where you have to book days off, you book days in
Everyone should stay in the halls for at least a year too. Everyone is drunk and stoned at all times

If I went I would be dead within the first year. I really like drinking & really hate cooking. Body wouldn't be able to hack it

i know but i need to pay my own fees n shoot. Since i've been there for the first year i gott pay £2K or something shoot like that to get back in. I just got sued for $40K, i don't jave 2K atm lol. I will have by the end of the week but that's spent .
I really am considering going to uni next year, won't be this year though, not enough time to apply n shoot.

i did uni because i enjoyed design. after a while, it occurred to me that i like design as a hobby, not as a career.
i want to do something else.

I apparently breached a hockey contract saying i would stay at a team (who i can't name at the moment) and i left but i only signed until February. Go figure eh, lol. Should get cleared soon and i won't have to pay nothing because they provided false evidence and it's finally being resolved, hopefully.

Well i've never worked in a tesco and don't plan to .
I have worked in admin jobs and i can work my way up and in about 3 years i'd be on an estimated 30-40K a year.
I just don't know anyone who has a degree that has done anything or achieved anything with it. That's what's putting me off but i can see why i would want one, etc. I do want one sometimes and i regret leaving uni and want to go back but then i think about how even when i do get it, it might not get me anywhere anyway without experience.
MAtt H - career or hobby with what? IT is a hobby that i'd like to make into a career and Ice hockey is becoming a career but it's still fun.
Right now
I have not too bad school grades
I have 7 years computing knowledge which i can can prove
4 years atleast advanced MS Office knowledge
Accounting knowledge, which i will probably try to find a job in to work towards the qualification side.
SAGE payroll trained
learning the SWIFT info system
Pretty indepth hardware and network knowledge, inc TCP/IP protocols
Linux and network knowledge
2nd Year business admin
business math
Some other stuff
shoot i probably know more than half the people you speak to on 45K a year .
I got loads of stuff that i know but i don't have a bit of paper that says i know this (except my CV). I can prove it all though so i just need the opportunity.
So many decisions
Need somebody to tell me what to do, i'm shit at education related decisions lol. I'll get no funding for the first year so i'm finding it even harder to justify to myself that it's really worth it.
