Yeah the thing with the codecs is annoying. I downloaded VLC media player from download.com and it plays all of the media files that I have tried so far.

Pay a visit here -> K-Lite Codec Resource Site

Download and install the K-Lite Codec Pack 2.45

That's 99% of all files covered.
