had to make some suspension mods first.... springs from a 5 door corsa




it came down about 50-60mm






drove about 300 miles like that... car handled amazingly well funnly enough

are your harnness joined to the floor or the c pillar?

the c pillar and you'll be fine....

the floor and id say it the engine will be sitting on them....

was 1.4 8v tho...

broster just recently carted a 2ltr about in his too...

how bout if you split the engine and box
and sat the engine on 1 side of the car longways and the gearbox next to it?

paul lookin at that as lon as i strip off zorst and etc leave the block intact and i tie it down it shud be fine

yeah take off the zaust manifold & strap it down, but put some thick rags under it like i did there

should be fine!

tbh tho you should be able to keep the box ON the engine, just keeps things easier to lift it out!

I lifted that in the boot myself

you might be alright ... maybe take the head off to would make it easyer.... although if you had to brake hard get the fook out of the way

it depends what engine it is... thats was a c16xe in my boot... its was heavy as fook and bigger than the 1 above there....

i was thinking about doing this, but didnt know if it was safe enough, i was going to put a c20let in mine, but dont think it would be a good idea.

true true bigger engine - more weight

but the 16XE should still fit in the boot with the gearbox attached still as his boot is all stripped out!

so is it not a good idea to put the engine in the back of my car, ive took the seats out so have the space but dont think the floor could cope with the weight

it will be fine... i would however suggest standard springs before you go to get it....

i drove from kent with a c20xe, box lots of other bits in the car, i drove to leeds with a c20xe in the car and both times no scrubbage, i drove 1 mile down the road with a c20let and it rubber!

Mines lowered 40mm on springs alone on 16's with a quite low rear bumper and i need to put an XE init and drive about 300 miles will i be ok? or will i need to change the suspension first?
