Im starting to notice a lot of colour fcukups when playing CS:S - Gun goes green, fingernails go white and there are purple squares on the sides of doors, seems to fuk up wherever there is shading
Ive not tested it on any other game so far but its really doing my head in. What can it be??
AMD 64 3000+
1Gig RAM
ATI X800 xt pe
image doesnt show it all that well but trust me its worse when u play

Nope it aint clocked. Only Mod is an upgraded heatsink for the actual card.
Drivers are off the net, updated them today. it did it before the update aswell anyway.

i use to have this problem. look at latest drivers obviously. could be corrupt textures, so re-downloading the game could solve that. i think if you just delete the game from the steam folder, next time you click it, it will download it again.
or maybe you have the graphics settings to high like AA or AF on which your card may not support

If you've installed a new heatsink you might have not put it on properly and it could very well be overheating. What thermal paste did you use?

If you used it all on one side you used far too much. Supposed to be a very very thin layer over the chip. You'll be able to get it from anywhere that sells components prob. Try reinstalling game and drivers etc as everyone else has said but if it doesn't work i would fix the heatsink. Is there no temperature monitoring on it? Think there should be.

Yeah you want less than a pea sized amount of paste really, it might be causing it to overheat. As everyone else said though, try reinstalling the drivers etc too

forget it, you dont need a great deal of it.
its definatly the graphics card drivers, im 100% sure of it.
What car is it? ATI?
If you havent got the latest drivers, go download a previous version drivers.
it'll definatly sort it

Corrupt textures and random shit on graphics cards are usually down to VPU/memory speeds on the card, or overheating.
In cases with alot of these cards, it can also be the power supply to the card. Some budget PSU's cant deliver what the card requires.
But as you say you upgraded the cooler, i suggest you pop to PC world and buy a small syringe of coolermaster thermal paste, whip off the fan, clean off all the old shit and blob some on

Where can i find previous version drivers? Shall i just install the ones that came on CD with the card?

have a google for graphics card temp monitor - i know there is one, as majority of new cards have temp sensors on them etc
Also, i would try lowering the details etc and see if that helps, or under-clocking the card.
As for the heatsink, sod coolermaster crap, splash out on some Artic Silver (about a fiver) and like said wack a small amount on each side
Although im pretty sure its drivers - although have you checked the steam forums, someone else may of had problems with the same card etc
