James, I think you may have misunderstood the young lady's statement.
She must presumably, not be a Carlsberg fan and probably would prefer a Campari with soda; or perhaps a nice Martini.
Perhaps she feels quite passionately that the marque in question does not deserve to be associated with something as crass as a mass produced lager, and would be more suitably linked with something of a more refined nature and desirable heritage (much like the car itself), such as a fine single malt with impeccable lineage for instance.
She may well be a young woman of refined character and upbringing and therefore not familiar with 'Estuary English'.
The more contemporary use of the word 'chav' may indeed mean nothing to her; and I believe she was in fact referring to a local 'chav' community from the area in which the photograph was taken whereby the endemic motorist population are revered as a higher order of life; and only drive Escort Cosworths.
They are a group of considerable wealth and intellectual prowess and derive their interpretation of the word 'chav' from the dictionary definition for their chosen form of transport - Consistently Honourable & Advanced Vehicle.
I hope I have clarified the situation for you; and averted any potential discord between yourself and the young Ms Vibrio.
With best wishes and kindest regards.
