The way hes stepped up his game is amazing, his range of passing is brilliant, times his runs perfectly and he has got some shot on him. Dunno if theres a more complete midfielder out there?

Thing is, the guy that comes closest just now is probably a fully fit gerrard and with joe cole starting to make a similar improvement to lampard, as much as it pains me to say it being scottish, england probably have the best midfield going just now.

I would disagree, he is great at getting forward and scoring goals but I think he is over rated and Gerrard is mega over rated. Neither are able to control a game. Lampard isnt as important to chelsea as Claude Mak-a-lady as shown up against birmingham last weekend.

I am not saying their not good, but to me they are not on a level with players like zidane and more importantly, Pavel Nedved.

I'd say both are the key players (gerrard and Lampard) in both of their sides, always working strong and yes they get extra credit for scoring but the way they are both always having a go when dropping in behind and actually scoring 80% of them is one of the main reasosn chelsea and liverpool are still in the champions league

Both world class and only getting better. As for Joe Cole he's class too

They're both good but in terms they're two different players, Gerrard is having to drop off and hold the back 4 because Hamman is out for Liverpool where as Lampard can go forward all the time. In terms of passing and committment for their respective clubs, they are about as good as each other. Xavi Alonso, Better passing ability than Lampard!

agree somewhat.

He's a different player to the likes of Vieira and Keane but he scores a shoot load more goals.

Just wish he'd do the same for England

Gerrard is a great influence on any england game imo and his goal scoring record is not bad in comparrison to similar position players over the years (relatively so far ). Nothing but respect and admiration for him, and think anyone who disagrees is a nob
