BT are upgrading their existing customers with a 512 line to a 1MB for free. This was announced a few weeks ago and mines yet to be done. Has anyone had theirs upgraded yet.

I have been told they are running behind and they should have mine done by the end of April... so probs July or so..

Yeah back at home i went from 1mb to 2mb for free On 1mb at the flat still cause i'm with Wanadoo here.

i went from 512k to 2meg for free, happened over a month ago now

They just did it. Got a letter at some point saying it was being done.

They upgraded it around 2 weeks ago.

i live in a village and it took a while for them to install broadband so perhaps we're going to wait

The exhange is at the back of our house so that's why we got it quite quickly.

Said it was gonna be done on ours 1mb to 2mb but then got a letter through saying our phone line is not good enough for 2meg even though its a new housing estate.

I hope you all realise, its all shared out.. There will be about 100 people sharing the 2 meg line.

that cant be true, so everyone gets 20kbps then, thats slower than dialup

If ur line is only good enough for 512 you won't get upgraded.

it is shared out, you wont each have 2 meg. so many share 1 connection
