My car went in for its MOT on thursday day and failed.

The examiner said that thebrake pads were exsesively worn, handbrake cable is exsesevily frayed and the head light alignment was out and he couldnt adjust it.

My dad owns a commercial vehicle workshop so i got all the equipment for fixing everthing .

Well if u know the headlight alignment is just a knob on the back the headlight unit. We replaced the brake pads yesterday and the ones we took off wernt even half worn. and we put the car up on the lift and looked at the handbrake cable and it isnt frayed at all.

also the examiner complained bout rear seat access as he ouldnt work out how to tilt my cobra's forward. This is completely pointless as u dont need to be able to access the rear seats for the test so y is trying to???

Me and my dad think that he didnt want to pass my car and chose things to fail it on that the average person wouldnt be able to check or now bout.

Has ne1 else had simular experiences with MOT's???

Sorry for essay and poor spellings

If I were you, I'd take my car to get MOT'd somewhere else! Tester sounds like a right knob jockey!

Any MOT test centre can adjust headlamp aim FFS!

If you have seats in the back they have to check the seatbelts are working properly.

in the workshop we came to the conclusion that it isnt a nessary part of the MOT as older car dont have them.

the rear seats and belts are paert of the test the have to be secure to the back and belts have to be not frayed etc.

headlamp aim doesnt matter if your thing says there right, if his says there out they fail. if has had tried to align them and they wont could be the reflector inside the light has comeaway from the adjuster, more than likely have to have the light apart.

sadly the MOT is a matter of opion and if he wants to fail it he can
