Looking for somethin so that me and a friend can transfer files without using MSN as its toss. If i can set a folder he can always access that would be a bonus, also if its free software, another bonus

Can anyone recommend anythin?

Yes but it has no spyware included and you don't have to let other people upload off you.

setup FTP server(s)? or use something like a simple webserver (IIS, Apache), set up a passworded folder and share that etc

or something like THIS, THIS and MORE STUFF HERE

nah its mainly a chat program mate, look at some of the links i gave mate - there direct internet file transfer stuff ie: you type ip address of other person etc etc

get some webspace and use Internet explorer as an FTP client easy peasy
