I wouldn't use it. The chances are its a dodgy sensor or something but I wouldnt chance it.

depends. Is the car in 'lmip home mode', i.e wont rev over a certain limit etc?

You need to get access to the diagnostic plug which is beneath the handbrake handle. You would clearly notice if the car was in limp mode, but suspect you would need to try and rev beyond 3k to see.

I might have a go after work, just phoned up the garage and its going in Monday so will just use the old mans car over the weekend. Its still under warranty so shouldn't cost a penny!

Yeh too right, bet the garage love me. The BMW cost them over £1600 to repair and now this is cutting into there profit

Its just annoying as need to use the car over the weekend as was gonna go away saturday!!

Yes, i had a look in the handbook and it the engine management and Exhaust emission warning. It state in the handbook that it is now running on emergency running program and do not drive for lengthy periods of time

Oh no its not thats for diesel engines, its just the Exhaust emission warning light!

"Fault with the emission control system. The permissible emission limits may be exceeded. Consult your vauxhall dealership." From the astra handbook!
