Anyone know much about them? Need something big to tow cars with, not wanting to spend more than £15-18k these look like good buys considering new cost/specs

Yep, friend on mine has had one about six months.

51 plate, average miles, the diesel, 3ltr I think. Not great performance (sluggish in fact) but immense road presence and it had all the toys for very little cash.

Just an idea but if you just want something for towing, why not just get a cheap diesel Discovery?

Seems a waste of 18k if thats going to be it only purpose. I could think of several better ways of spending 18k!

Actually really like the new td6 Discovery 3, looks like a Range Rover Lot more money but that looks a good car..Not just for towing though, I've sold the CTR and need an everyday car anyway so thought it's best to combine both and get something comfortable as well as practicle

hey nik, neighbour used to have the straight 6 Grand Cherokee, and he towed my pug 205 to the loca garage when the clutch failed, needless to say, the cherokee did a great job, and i thought it was going to pull my tow eye off

They are a pile of wank. They are a perfect example of the lack of intelegence used in American engineering... The V8 engine is so fucking in-efficient and the auto gearboxes in them, what a pile of shite, it changes gear so slowly and craply....
