Whats the risk with shipping to an unconfirmed address? I heard that the buyer can withdraw the funds later once the item has been shipped and I have no protection.
Also, someone has tried to pay me for an eBay auction and it ways payment is pending, it appears from a bank account. Anyone know what the situation is with this? i.e. is it a scam?

The only difference with an unconfirmed addy is that there is no comeback if probs. No-one can take the money back except Paypal but only if its in the Paypal account.
A pending payment means it hasnt yet cleared form a credit card, can also be an E-cheque which is basicly the same as a normal cheque, they notify you when it clears
