My mate had one. Quite quick, around 20 to 100 i think.

Handle well too.

VW will be built better, and the engine will run forever.

My mate has a mk2 gti 8v and it has around 180k on it, and it still runs really well.

i know there build quality will be better, after all i work for them

just wondering as a oak green 16v woudl be lovely

They are quite solid. A lot came without PAS and are pretty misserable to drive at anything below 20 mph. Heavy cars, I'd not call them that quick, but they are no slouch. GTE 16v is a better car, although let down by build quality and rust.

Theres only 9kgs between the mk2 GTi 16v and the GTE 16v

but the GTE has 155-165bhp, i belibe the mk2 is 25bhp down on that

Oak green hmmmm

Shame the golf ralyees are so under powered as they do look mean as fook Mind you the S3 conversion makes up for it

As for mk2 golf it dont feel as nice as my XE but the Vr6 ones feel supurb

yes amen to that but to answer your question it dont drive as good as an XE although its not too shabby

get an 8v theyre more torquey

not much difference between mine and a valver, i can pull away faster
