It reads
' Dear sir/madam,
The wiltshire and swindon safety camera partnership have recieved legal advice from th crown prosecution service that as the date of the offence in your case was before 14 january 2004, the convicting evidence did not contain the required documentary corroboration.
The penalty points for this offence will therefore be removed and your payment refunded.'
When i saw the letter i was thinkin OH POOP got a speeding ticket! But what a flippin relief!
Got a clean liscence again YAY!

When did you pay the fine? If you had to pay more insurance premium because of the illegally-applied points then you should sue them for it!

lol Like you would sue for anything under a couple of grand! Plus it would be extremely hard to take the Police or any emergency service to court and win as it would open up a flood gate of cases against them and cost them loads of money if they were to lose.

If it was a couple of hundred then it's worthwhile. Don't understand how them having to defend more cases and pay out makes it harder for you to win your own case though?

well if you sue the police and you win your case they will have to pay out, plus pay all the costs of the court and solicitors etc (would be payed by us in effect through taxes but thats another point!)
Anyway the next time something similiar happens the court would look at similiar cases and how they went and are likely to give the verdict same way, so then they would have to pay out again. Then people would try sueing for loads of shit, everytime they were out of pocket due to police, and it would snowball.
abit like whiplash, as soon as everyone cottened on to that, people just claim whiplash straight away, pushing up insurance priemiums as a result.

I love the car so much that i couldn't bear to see anyone else driving it.. I'd rather scrap it than sell it - except i dont think the scrap yard would give me the money i'm gonna need..
